Recording of my Seminar for 7th annual Dutch Traditional Chinese Medicine Congress
1. Introduction
Sanjiao, often considered one of the most mysterious organs in TCM, holds a pivotal role in the organs and channels system. Its significance is well-documented in the classical text of Nan Jing, particularly highlighted in two chapters. Chapter 31 describes Sanjiao as the crucial passway for the flow of water and food Qi, marking both the beginning and end of its movement. In Chapter 62, it is noted that Sanjiao connects all Yang or Fu organs, necessitating additional Yuan-source points on all Yang channels to maintain balance, thus making the six Yuan-source points of the Yang meridians connect directly to Sanjiao.
The indications of Master Tung points further underscore the importance of Sanjiao in clinical practice. In Master Tung Acupuncture, points along the Sanjiao channel are used to supplement the kidney and regulate both minister fire and Yang Qi throughout the body, demonstrating its systemic influence and vital role in maintaining Yuan Qi, Yang Qi, and water dynamics.
In this course, we will explore:
- Classical Perspectives: review the original texts concerning Sanjiao from the Nan Jing, exploring its foundational concepts and historical significance.
- Development: Examine how later TCM masters like Xuan Fu and Mu Yuan have interpreted and expanded upon the understanding of Sanjiao, incorporating these insights into contemporary practice.
- Practical Applications: Learn about effective acupuncture point selection specifically tailored to treat Sanjiao disorders, with additional focus on Master Tung Acupuncture. This session will include detailed discussions on the strategic use of these points to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
Join us as we delve into the intricate world of Sanjiao, uncovering its foundational role in acupuncture practice and discover how ancient wisdom is applied in modern clinic.
